Norris Lake

My grandma has had a hard time adjusting to my grandpa being gone so my Aunt decided to take her to her new lake house down in Tennessee for a few days and invited me to come along. I thought how can I pass up a girl's trip with my 86 year old grandma and started packing my bags!
My Aunt's lake house is amazing...like really, really amazing. It's on Norris Lake, which is nestled in the Cumberland mountains about 20 miles North of Knoxville. I absolutely loved the mountain view!
The first day we were there we toured around the house, took a pontoon boat ride and headed to a restaurant called McCloud's which was up on top of a mountain. I won't lie the drive up the mountain to McClouds was a little scary, 2700 feet elevation! The man who owns the restaurant also owns his own freaking mountain. I want to own a mountain. The view from the restaurant was amazing!
The next few days were full of early morning Kayak trips, a pontoon boat ride to the Marina, speeding around in their new jet ski and a movie night complete with pizza and popcorn.

We had a lovely time and enjoyed the peace and quiet of the mountains. I can't wait for Drew and the rest of my family to go down so we can all relax and play at the lake together!
