Summer Bucketlist {re-visited}

As summer comes to a close (so depressing!) I thought I should re-visit my summer bucket list and see what things I was able to cross off my list...
-Bike ride on the Loveland bike trail
We didn't make it to the actual bike trail, but we did both get new (to us) mountain bikes and took several rides around town and in the park near our house

-Try out at least 3 new restaurants in downtown Cincy
One thing we definitely did this summer was explore our city. We tried out more than 3 new restaurants, but these were some of my favorites: Echo, Taste of Belgium and Anchor

-Read at least 10 books on my list (FAIL, I read 4 and a half)
I read The Princess Bride, The Distant Hours, Call the Midwife, Bread & Wine and I'm in the middle of Wild

-Use our canoe
I'm going to count Kayaking
-Try out some new donut recipes (FAIL, but we will get around to it one of these days)

-Have a picnic at the park
A few of my girlfriends picked up Whole Foods and took it to the park near my house. We laid out a blanket, ate and napped in the sun.
-Go to the drive in
We saw Monsters University/Superman on my birthday
-Put together a photo wall
You can see how it turned out here!
-Travel to a state we've never visited
We went out to Colorado for a wedding and mini vaca. I miss it!

-Find new places to hang our hammocks
We hung hammocks in KY at our family reunion and then at the lake in Tennessee.
-Make creamsicles
Made these twice. They are that good.
-Go back to Findlay Market (Fail)
-Do some of the DIY projects I have pinned
I only did one measly DIY project for my craft room, but I am in love with my new stool for my craft room below! (Tutorial coming soon.) I did however make quite a few new recipes that I had pinned. I made several new recipes including Strawberry Bruschetta, Lemon Asparagus Couscous, and Mini chocolate chip cheesecakes
-Find a way to give back/serve others
Drew and I are still looking for a consistent way we can serve others outside of our teaching jobs, but we did go to Matthew 25 Ministries and helped out at a church garage sale to raise money for a family trying to adopt two children from China. Drew and I also gave up TV before 10 am and worked on being intentional in our marriage.

-Attend a few Reds Games and explore the Banks
We did get to go to a Red's game when Drew's family was in town and tried out Yard House at the Banks.
*A few of my other favorite summer activities included our trip to Norris lake with my family, living like a local on my birthday, making Cake batter martinis and celebrating our 4 year anniversary.

I am so sad summer is ending, but there's also a sense of excitement as a new school year is about to begin. I will probably be very sporadic in my posting for the next month or so as I adjust back to working full time, but I'll do my best to keep up with all that is happening in your lives!

Goodbye Summer...it's been real.

P.S. Another Hello/Goodbye Link-up will be happening on September 1st so mark your calendar if you want to join in!

You guys did a lot! I'm sure as much fun as having summer off is, it's SO hard to go back to working all day. Hope you have a smooth adjustment! I read Call the Midwife too this summer and really enjoyed it!

Even if you didn't get to all the items, all the ones you did make for a seriously great sounding summer! I've still been meaning to bike (or run) on the Loveland trail forever too, and try Anchor. Also fall seems like a perfect time for new donut recipes, so you can still get to that next month :)

looks like you definitely made the most of your summer! i need to make a list like this for next year... and probably every season, really. it's so easy to let the time slip by and get away from you and not do the things you wanted to!

love your pink stool. so cute!
