I loved this picture, but could not find it's original source. If you know where it came from I will gladly reference it! |
The days that followed that news were a complete blur. I was hurt, confused, lost, disappointed...and let's not forget pregnant. But all the while I knew God was going to take care of me. I prayed and sought God's plan for me and in less than a week had sent out my resume to a ton of new schools. Then there was this one application I sent out to my church. A church my husband and I had only just started attending a few months prior because we felt God leading us there. My husband had mentioned seeing a job posting for an Elementary Coordinator on our church website and when I looked at the description I immediately applied. A week later I got a phone call from the church, then a phone interview, then a face to face interview, then 3 more interviews...
After my last interview with my church I found out that my position at my school was once again open for me to go back to, but I decided to turn it down and wait on the Lord. Something in me just knew he had allowed this craziness to happen for a reason.
You can probably guess the ending of this chapter of the story...I got offered the job at my church. So the day after school ended, I packed up my entire classroom and 2 days later, started my new job. God has surprised me in a big way with a career change, but that is just how he works. I'm completely in love with my new job and could have never in a thousand years planned for things to work out the way that they have. I now have a job that is more flexible for being a new mama. I have a job that is fulfilling, a boss who is incredible and a new community of people to meet and love on. I am so incredibly thankful for a God who knows the big picture and has the best in mind for me always.
My days as a classroom teacher are over for now, but part of my new role is still teaching kids so my teaching days are not over. God continues to surprise me with his goodness. Whatever you are going through right now, just know that God will take care of you. He always wants the best for you and trusting in him is the best thing you can ever do. He hears you. He loves you. He wants to comfort you and take care of your needs.
Has there been a time in your life recently when it felt like things were crashing down all around you, but then God turned it into a huge blessing? I would love to hear about it.
