Baby's first Thanksgiving {and other firsts}

 I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving. As it was Aiden's very first Thanksgiving it was an extra special one for us! It was so fun introducing Aiden to family members he had never met, stuffing my face with turkey and soaking up all we have to be thankful for this year.
We spent Thanksgiving here in Ohio with Drew's family. Drew's Mom and sisters are all great cooks so we had a huge spread and went around the table and listed things we were thankful for. We tried out an old school baseball game, played Christmas carols on their player piano and Aiden got to meet the family dog, Trigger.

While it was a sweet day being all together, we so missed having my father in law with us this year. This will be our first holiday season without him. The absence of his energy and laughter were strongly felt, but having Aiden with us definitely helped ease some of the sadness. I'm continually reminding myself and praying that I can be thankful in all circumstances. I know Terry wouldn't want us to be sad that he is gone, only happy for the time we did get to spend together and the time we will someday get to spend together again.
On Friday we took our first road trip as a family of three to Kentucky to spend time with my Mom's side of the family. McDonalds breakfast was involved. Duh. Aiden did so well on the car ride. What a trooper!

There were so many sweet moments on our trip as Aiden got to meet so many special people. It's safe to say he stole the show...as it should be.

My favorite moment was Aiden meeting his Great Grandma Mimi. She was so excited to meet him as her face shows. The emotion captured here is just too sweet. I love how she is looking at him.

While we were in town we got to celebrate my cousin Carmen and her baby girl, Evelyn Rose due in February with a shower and another amazing onesie making party! I'm always surprised with how cute and different all our onesies turn out. Even Drew and my cousin Jake got in on the fun. Please take special note of Drew's onesie below.

 It was so fun to be with all my cousins and Aunts again. The last time we were together was at my baby shower for Aiden. What a difference a few months make!

We ended the weekend with our annual Chili cook off at my Uncle's house, which is always filled with great food and fun cousin bonding time.

Aiden's first bottle not from his Mom or Dad. Good job Aunt Alyssa! :)
And as if this post weren't long enough...here are a few other firsts for Aiden because let's be honest I don't have time to do another post to capture these too. #bloggermomproblems

Still am obsessed wth the idea of a onesie making party! So cute! I'm glad to hear that sweet little Aiden was able to ease the sadness of your Father in law not being there, but like you said, he would want you all to have a great holiday season enjoying all the laughter possible!

Ps- you are one hot momma! ;)

Thanks for all the great photos. You said you like the one of your Mimi seeing Aiden for the first time--I like the same picture, but it's the look on YOUR face that is very touching--filled with love for both her and your little one.

The onesies! Just as cute as last time! I can't get over what a great idea that is. The picture of him sleeping in the car? I can't deal. His little face is so precious! I also love the picture of everyone dressed up on Halloween! That will forever be such a special day for you! :)

Ahhh! I love all of this so much. I love how Aiden was passed around for all the different folks to love on him. I love his face in the picture with Trigger. And the one with your grandma (Mimi?) melted my heart. What a wonderful thanksgiving. Thinking of you guys through the holiday season as you remember Drew's dad.
