3 books to read before the movie in 2014

I've been reading up a storm in my new reading nook (aka Aiden's nursery) and I am pretty darn excited about the books that are being turned into movies this year. I really enjoyed all three of the books below and can't wait to see them in movie form! {Click links below to watch the Trailer}

1. Gone Girl
The cast for this movie looks great: Ben Affleck, Tyler Perry, Neil Patrick Harris. This book was one of the craziest books I've ever read and I am tempted to read it again before seeing the movie in October! If you want a quick read that will keep you engaged at every page turn, this is it!

2. Before I Go To Sleep
I read this book right after finishing Gone Girl because I needed another thriller. This was another book I couldn't put down and again the cast looks perfect! Yay Nicole Kidman.

3. The Giver
I read this book back in high school and then read it again recently with my book club. I love the idea behind this book and am excited to see how they make it on the big screen.

Are there any other books turning into movies this year I need to start reading?!

I really didn't care for Gone Girl, mostly because I hated the ending (who didn't?!), but I have to admit I'm intrigued by the casting. I would never think to put NPH as Desi!

I am seriously counting down the days until Gone Girl! So, so very excited! I haven't heard of Before I Go To Sleep, so I'll have to check that out once I force myself to finish Insurgent.

I loved Gone Girl and can't wait for the movie to come out. I hadn't heard of Before I Go To Sleep, but I'll have to check that out now. I just read If I Stay by Gayle Forman, which the movie is coming out this month. It was a quick and easy read if you're looking for something else to add to your list.

We read the Giver back in middle school too and I saw the preview for the movie on Sunday and thought OMG I am going to need to re-read that before the movie comes out!! I am going to add these others to my list too (:

I read Gone Girl quite a while ago, I had NO idea they were making Before I Go To Sleep into a movie. Oh man, I have got to see that!

I loved The Giver when I read it in high school and when I read it again a couple of years ago! I'm super excited to see the movie! :)

I recently read Gone Girl (actually I listened to it on Audible, which I think took away from the book - I probably would have liked it better if I'd read it) and The Giver, but I haven't read the third one you mention. I'll have to check it out. :)

Oh man, Gone Girl and Before I Go to Sleep were such intense reads that I don't know if I can watch the movies! I don't handle suspense that well, but it's way worse with movies than books. Interesting that they're making a movie version of The Giver this many years after it was published - it's a great book.

I still haven't seen the movie version of The Fault in Our Stars or Divergent, though I've read those... curious how they are.

I was disappointed by Gone Girl's ending, but I am still excited about the movie.

Another one I am excited to watch (after I finish reading the book) is The Hundred-Foot Journey. It comes out today, actually.
